Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has expressed deep appreciation for his former manager, Ange Postecoglou, calling him a lasting mentor in his career.
Postecoglou guided Spurs to a historic Europa League triumph this season, marking the club’s first UEFA trophy in 45 years and securing a coveted Champions League spot for next season.
However, a disappointing 17th-place finish in the Premier League, amid a season plagued by injuries, ultimately led to the Australian coach’s dismissal.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Vicario paid tribute to Postecoglou, writing,“Boss, I just want to say a massive thank you for everything you have done for me and for all of us.
“From that very first call, right from the beginning, you always showed so much belief in me.
“Giving me the opportunity to be part of the leadership group… those moments, and many others, will stay with me forever.”
Despite the turbulent league campaign, Vicario’s message made it clear that Postecoglou’s influence will remain with him for years to come.
