Galatasaray midfielder, Lucas Torreira, has pledged full support for Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, as the Nigerian striker begins a new chapter with the Turkish champions.
The reigning Super Lig titleholders secured Osimhen’s services on a permanent basis from Napoli, splashing out €75 million ($85.74 million), a record fee for an incoming player in Turkish football history.
Osimhen, who lit up the league while on loan last season, returns to Istanbul after a prolific campaign that saw him not only finish as the Super Lig’s top scorer with 26 goals but also set a new benchmark as the highest-scoring foreign player in a single Turkish season, netting 37 times across all competitions.
The former Lille forward had attracted interest from several elite European clubs before committing his future to Galatasaray.
Torreira, taking to Instagram, welcomed Osimhen back with heartfelt words, “Thank you for choosing this family again. We’ll help you continue making history, you deserve the best, #45.”
