Former Lagos State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, widely known as Jandor, has declared that his political movement is now focused on securing a second term for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Jandor made the statement on Friday while addressing his supporters at a rally in Ojo, Lagos, where he publicly announced his return to the All Progressives Congress.
He said the decision to rejoin the ruling party was driven by his belief in Tinubu’s capacity to transform Nigeria and the evident impact of the administration’s reforms.
According to him, the performance of the current administration under Tinubu has made a strong case for continuity, adding that the president’s people-centered approach and tough policy choices show commitment to national progress.
“Removal of fuel subsidy makes Tinubu a selfless President because he would have ordinarily allowed the status quo to remain to secure second term in office,” he said.
Jandor assured supporters that he and his team are committed to the president’s re-election, stating, “That is why we are going to do everything humanly possible to make sure we work for his re-election. Our priority is to ensure that we see to how this man will return in 2027 to further reposition the country.”
Jandor, who contested the 2023 Lagos State governorship election under the PDP, officially returned to the APC on March 3, signaling a major political realignment ahead of the next electoral cycle.
