President Bola Tinubu will visit Kaduna State on Thursday to inaugurate several developmental projects executed by Governor Uba Sani’s administration, as part of activities marking the governor’s two years in office.
The projects scheduled for commissioning include: A 300-bed Specialist Hospital in Millennium City, Kaduna; The Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development in Rigachikun; Road projects in Soba and Samaru Kataf LGAs; The 24-kilometre Kafanchan Township Road; The Tudun Biri Road; The 22km road linking Kauru and Kubau LGAs; The Vocational and Skills Training Centre in Tudun Biri.
Additionally, the President will unveil 100 Compressed Natural Gas buses as part of efforts to modernize the state’s public transportation system. These projects reflect the administration’s focus on infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, youth empowerment, and economic growth.
The Kaduna State government described the presidential visit as “a significant moment for the people of Kaduna and an opportunity to showcase ongoing efforts to transform the state through impactful governance.” Governor Sani, who marked his second year in office this month, has prioritized human capital development, rural infrastructure, and job creation since assuming office in 2023.
The visit was originally scheduled for Wednesday but was postponed due to President Tinubu’s trip to Benue State to address the recent attacks there. During his Benue visit, the President commiserated with victims of the violence and assessed the humanitarian situation.
Tinubu met with various stakeholders in Benue, including traditional rulers, political and community leaders, and youth groups, to seek lasting solutions to the hostilities.
He condemned the ongoing violence, stating: “We must embrace peace and mutual understanding to end these needless conflicts.”
The Benue State government had declared a work-free day for the presidential visit, encouraging residents to welcome Tinubu in large numbers. The President’s rescheduled visit to Kaduna now takes place Thursday as he continues his engagements with state governments across the country.
