Tinubu returns to Abuja after 10-day working visit to Lagos

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja after completing a 10-day working visit to Lagos, during which he held several strategic meetings, commissioned projects, and attended key national events.

According to a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President arrived in Lagos on September 26, shortly after attending the coronation of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Oyo State.

“While in Lagos, the President met with major investors, including Bayo Ogunlesi, Chief Executive Officer of Global Infrastructure Partners, and Keem Belo-Osagie, Chairman of Metis Capital Partners and former Chairman of United Bank for Africa and Etisalat,” Onanuga said.

He added that President Tinubu also hosted the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, alongside the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and other industry leaders.

“During the meeting, President Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to developing Nigeria’s maritime industry as a viable alternative to fossil fuel revenue,” the statement read.

Ahead of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, Tinubu paid a visit to Imo State, where he inaugurated several projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma and unveiled a book chronicling a decade of the All Progressives Congress in government.

Delivering his Independence Day broadcast from Dodan Barracks, Lagos, the President commissioned the renovated National Theatre, renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, urging citizens to “speak positively about Nigeria and believe in the nation’s future.”

Over the weekend, the President was in Jos, Plateau State, to attend the funeral of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.
