Sayria Spa, a luxury wellness centre in Lagos owned by former Big Brother Naija star KokobyKhloe, has broken its silence following allegations of sexual assault made by a client against one of its male masseurs.
The incident, which allegedly occurred on May 21, 2025, involved Miss Angelica Kelechi, who had booked a surprise spa experience for her sister. The package included two massage treatments, and both women reportedly received their massages simultaneously in the same room.
Shortly after the session, Miss Kelechi took to social media to accuse the spa of harbouring a masseur who allegedly sexually assaulted her during the treatment.
In an official statement issued on Monday, Sayria Spa gave its account of events, stating that the appointment had been rescheduled earlier that day at the client’s request and that both guests were warmly welcomed and celebrated the occasion with refreshments before their treatments.
According to the statement, “As per our standard protocol, both clients were given privacy to change. The client in question was asked and confirmed that she was comfortable receiving a massage from a male therapist. During the session, there were a total of four people in the room — the client and her sister were side by side, each receiving their treatment simultaneously. The massage was conducted professionally, with the therapist checking in regularly to ensure the client’s comfort throughout the session.”
The spa also noted that after the treatment, both clients appeared satisfied, tipped the staff ₦25,000 in total, and remained at the premises for an extended period before leaving.
“However, later that evening, Miss Kelechi returned with individuals and police officers, leading to the male therapist being taken in for questioning over allegations of misconduct. The following day, the client voluntarily withdrew her complaint and submitted a formal letter to that effect.”
Despite the withdrawal, Sayria Spa disclosed that it immediately launched an internal investigation. The therapist was placed on suspension while the management also called for an independent law enforcement probe to ensure transparency.
The spa added that following further developments, the case was reopened and the therapist is currently in police custody. The Managing Director is said to be personally overseeing the matter.
“We want to reiterate that Sayria Spa has zero tolerance for any form of misconduct,” the statement added. “We remain fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, client care, and safety.
“We have reached out to the client to express our concern and reassure her that we are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness it deserves.
“We sincerely appreciate the understanding and continued support of our clients and community as we work to uphold a safe, respectful, and trustworthy environment for everyone.”
