The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced that there will be a scheduled six-hour power outage affecting parts of Oyo State.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by TCN’s spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, who explained that the interruption is necessary to carry out planned maintenance on one of the company’s 60 megavolt-ampere 132/33 kilovolt power transformers located at the Ayede Transmission Substation. The maintenance is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

“The six-hour maintenance will take place from 10 am to 4 pm. Consequently, Ibadan DisCo will be unable to supply electricity to customers in Eleyele, Lanlate, and Apata on the specified date,” Mbah stated.

She further apologised to affected electricity customers for the inconvenience, assuring them of TCN’s commitment to maintaining a safe and reliable power supply.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause electricity customers supplied from the transformer. We equally appreciate your understanding during the period of power interruption, which is necessary for our maintenance crew to ensure a safe working environment.

“Power supply will be restored immediately after the maintenance work is completed,” she said.
