Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala, departing NWSL expansion side Bay FC, has signed a two-year deal with Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal in the Women’s Premier League.

The transfer was completed on Monday after the 30-year-old passed her medical in Riyadh, ESPN reports.

Oshoala’s omission from Bay FC’s matchday squad against Angel City, where she was listed as “excused” on the availability report, had already signalled that a move was close.

Al Hilal confirmed the signing on Instagram with a simple announcement: “Welcome Asisat Oshoala.”

A two-time Ballon d’Or nominee, Oshoala arrives with elite pedigree. She spent five seasons at Barcelona, scoring 107 goals in 149 appearances, winning five Liga F titles and two UEFA Women’s Champions League crowns.

Before her glittering stint in Spain, she featured for Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chinese side Dalian Quanjian, having started her career at Nigerian clubs Robo and Rivers Angels.

Her brief stay at Bay FC in the NWSL followed last season’s expansion, where she was signed as a marquee addition.

In Saudi Arabia, Oshoala will link up with Super Falcons teammates Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega.

Al Hilal finished sixth last season in a competition that expanded from eight to ten teams, and the club is banking on Oshoala’s goals and leadership to push them higher in the table.

The move underscores Saudi Arabia’s growing pull in the women’s game and marks another headline step in Oshoala’s trailblazing career.
