Super Falcons’ first-choice goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, made an instant impact in her Brighton debut, earning the Player of the Match award on Sunday.
Brighton took to X on Monday to celebrate the Nigerian star, posting: “First appearance, first @British_Airways Player of the Match award! Congrats, Chiamaka!”
Nnadozie, who recently joined Brighton from French side Paris FC over the summer, featured in a goalless draw against Aston Villa in the Women’s Super League.
The WAFCON champion edged out teammates Madison Haley, Rachel McLaughlan, and Jelena Cankovic to claim the accolade, securing 83 percent of the votes.
McLaughlan received eight percent, Haley five percent, and Cankovic four percent.
This award adds to Nnadozie’s growing list of honors, including the Best Goalkeeper accolade she earned after helping the Super Falcons lift a record 10th WAFCON title in Morocco.
