Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, has vowed that the team is determined to rise to the pinnacle of global women’s football.

Ajibade gave this assurance on Monday at a state reception held in their honour at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, she emphasized that their ultimate goal is to win the FIFA Women’s World Cup and called for sustained backing from both the government and stakeholders to uplift Nigeria’s reputation on the world stage.

“We’re not content to rest on our laurels. Our vision is bold. We want to become the best women’s football team in the world,” she declared.

Addressing the gathering, she added, “Today, I stand before you not just as the captain of the Super Falcons, but as a proud daughter of Nigeria, carrying the dreams, resilience, and spirit of our great nation.

“On behalf of my teammates, coaches, and technical staff, I express our heartfelt gratitude for this warm reception and the unwavering belief you have shown in us.”

The reception came two days after the Super Falcons claimed their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title, once again affirming their dominance on the continent.
