Super Eagles star, Bright Osayi-Samuel, has completed a move to Sky Bet Championship side Birmingham City.
The 27-year-old defender joins the Blues on a free transfer following his departure from Turkish giants Fenerbahce last month. He has signed a three-year deal with the club.
Osayi-Samuel was previously on the verge of joining another Turkish side, Besiktas, but the move fell through due to disagreements over additional bonus terms.
The versatile full-back is no stranger to English football. He began his professional journey at Blackpool before earning a transfer to Queens Park Rangers in 2017, where he went on to feature in over 100 matches at Loftus Road.
He is expected to join up with his new team-mates for Birmingham’s pre-season training camp in Portugal.
Internationally, Osayi-Samuel has made 22 appearances for Nigeria and played a role in the Super Eagles’ run to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking after signing, he said, “I am honoured, it is a huge club with a great fanbase and I think I can kickstart my career and have a good journey here.”
