Super Eagles star, Wilfred Ndidi, is on the verge of sealing a move to Turkish football powerhouse Besiktas.
The Istanbul-based club has opted to trigger the £9 million release clause in Ndidi’s current deal, bringing them closer to securing the 28-year-old’s services.
Besiktas had previously seen a €7 million offer turned down by Leicester City, but have now returned with a more decisive move.
Reports also suggest that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team has formally informed Leicester of their interest, indicating potential competition for the Nigerian international.
Ndidi is expected to arrive in Istanbul later this week for his medicals. He is set to sign a three-year deal with an option for an additional year.
Ndidi originally joined Leicester City from Belgian side Genk in January 2017 and has been a key figure in the Foxes’ midfield ever since.
