Super Eagles midfielder, Joe Aribo, looks set to part ways with Sky Bet Championship side Southampton this summer.
The Nigerian international is weighing his options after the Saints’ relegation from the Premier League last season.
Signs of an imminent departure have grown stronger, with the 29-year-old left out of Southampton’s 2-1 win over Wrexham on Saturday.
Aribo endured a low-key pre-season, missing friendlies against Brighton & Hove Albion and Eastleigh, while making only sporadic appearances against Espanyol, CD Castellon, Valenciennes, and Gillingham.
Southampton boss Will Still all but confirmed the midfielder’s exit plans ahead of the Wrexham clash.
“There are a few players who are at a stage in their career where they’re making choices. Tyler [Dibling], Sam [Edozie] and Joe [Aribo] won’t be there,” he said.
Aribo’s potential availability has sparked interest across Europe. Premier League outfit Aston Villa, La Liga side Villarreal, and Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg are all monitoring developments.
Bundesliga club RB Leipzig are understood to have tabled a €10 million bid for the former Charlton Athletic star as the race for his signature heats up.
