The Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has called on gospel ministers to avoid spreading falsehoods to boost or maintain their ministries.
The cleric delivered the admonition on Sunday, the final day of the church’s 21-day fasting and prayer program, during the third service at the church’s international headquarters, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.
Oyedepo emphasized that dishonesty has no place in true ministry. “You won’t last in ministry telling lies,” he warned.
He further declared his personal stance on integrity in ministry, saying, “I stand before God, I will never tell lies about what God did not do just to impress anyone.”
Highlighting the significance of Scripture and giving glory to God, the bishop noted that unwavering commitment to truth enables ministers to reach remarkable heights.
“Holding fast to the validity of the Scripture and boasting in the Lord makes you scale enviable heights,” he said.
Oyedepo also encouraged believers to nurture their love for Jesus, stressing that reliance on God ensures victory over life’s challenges.
“To secure your restoration, keep your love for Jesus alive. Just allow God to lead you, and He will drown your enemies in the Red Sea. For anything you may ever need in life, Jesus is more than enough,” he advised.
Sharing a personal testimony, the bishop recalled a miraculous experience involving a close associate in Ile-Ife. “Long ago, a close person to me in Ife was struck with insanity. I asked that Psalms be read to him. He read it, and the insanity left,” Oyedepo recounted.
He concluded the service with a declaration of confidence in divine protection, affirming that no evil scheme against him would prevail.
