Skriniar vows to stop Osimhen as Fenerbahce, Galatasaray clash

Fenerbahce captain, Milan Skriniar, has declared his determination to keep Victor Osimhen quiet in Monday’s Istanbul derby

The Yellow Canaries will face Galatasaray at RAMS Park, aiming to challenge the league leaders in a high-stakes encounter.

Skriniar, who was involved in an aerial clash with Osimhen during Napoli’s match against Inter Milan in November 2021, remembers the incident that led the Nigeria international to adopt a protective face mask.

The centre-back is now prepared to confront Osimhen once more.

“Both (Osimhen, Icardi) are very good centre-forwards. Of course, they have different types of characteristics, but they are very good players,” Skriniar told Bein Sports.

“We will see what we need to do defensively on Monday. We need to play compactly and aggressively, and be together so we can stop them.”

Currently, Galatasaray lead the Super Lig table with 32 points, just one ahead of bitter city rivals Fenerbahce after 13 rounds of action.
