Shettima chairs NEC meting in Abuja

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Thursday presided over a meeting of the National Economic Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting was attended by key state leaders, including the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma.

Other governors present were Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Charles Soludo of Anambra, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Bassey Otu of Cross River, Hyacinth Alia of Benue, and Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State.

The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), was also in attendance.

The NEC, chaired by the Vice President, has the constitutional responsibility of advising the President on economic matters, including revenue allocation, national economic planning, and policy coordination.
