Paris FC have confirmed the departure of Nigerian international goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie from their women’s team.
Nnadozie, 24, joined the French outfit in 2020 from Nigeria Women Football League side, Rivers Angels.
Since then, she has become a standout performer, cementing her place as Nigeria’s number one goalkeeper and earning widespread recognition as Africa’s best in the position.
In a farewell message shared on social media, Paris FC paid tribute to Nnadozie’s impact at the club, “Merci, Chiamaka! From your first save to your last stand in Parisian colours, you’ve inspired a generation. You leave as a champion, a leader, and forever a part of the Paris FC family. Bonne chance for your next chapter!” the statement read.
Nnadozie capped her time in France with a major highlight in May, helping Paris FC clinch the Coupe de France Féminine, her first and only major trophy with the club.
She was also honoured as the Best Goalkeeper in the French Women’s League for the 2023/24 season.
Reports suggested she could be on her way to the Women’s Super League in England, with Everton said to be among the clubs keen on signing her.
Nnadozie is expected to feature prominently for Nigeria at the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
