S’Falcons coach Madugu honoured with chieftaincy title in Adamawa

Super Falcons head coach, Justine Madugu, has been conferred with a chieftaincy title in recognition of his accomplishments at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

His Royal Majesty, Daniel Shaga Ismaila, ruler of the Bachama Kingdom in Adamawa Stste, bestowed upon Madugu the prestigious traditional title of Nzo’vwapatu Bachama during a visit by the coach to the royal palace on Sunday.

The Bachama Kingdom is situated in the Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Madugu recently guided the Super Falcons to a historic 10th WAFCON title, sealing the triumph with a dramatic 3-2 victory over hosts, Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses, in last week’s final.

In further recognition of his feat, the coach received a hero’s welcome from the Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, at the Government House in Yola.

Governor Fintiri rewarded Madugu with a cash gift of N50 million and a fully furnished three-bedroom bungalow.
