Sevilla head coach, Matias Almeyda, has expressed confidence that Adams Akor will soon break his goal drought.
The Nigerian forward has struggled in front of goal, going eight matches without scoring for the Rojiblancos.
In addition, the 25-year-old has often been caught offside, drawing criticism from the club’s supporters.
Despite this, Almeyda believes Akor’s efforts will pay off soon. “He is a footballer who works a lot and needs confidence. I prefer that he is trying to right his wrongs rather than standing still,” the Argentine told Orgullobiri.
This season, Akor has scored twice and provided one assist in 12 league appearances for Sevilla.
He is also expected to feature in Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
