Serie A: Biraghi’s own goal hands Bologna 3-2 win over Torino

Cristiano Biraghi endured a nightmare debut for Torino, scoring a last-minute own goal that handed Bologna a dramatic 3-2 victory in their Serie A clash on Friday.

In the dying moments of the game, an unfortunate deflection off the defender sent the ball past his own goalkeeper, sealing a bitter end to Torino’s unbeaten streak.

The former Fiorentina man’s mistake marked his new club’s first defeat in eight matches, following a stretch of six draws and a win that had steadied their form after a rocky end to 2024.

The thrilling contest at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara had no shortage of action, with Dan Ndoye bagging a brace for Bologna.

Torino had initially taken control in the second half thanks to a moment of brilliance from Eljif Elmas.

The Leipzig loanee showcased his skill with a clever nutmeg before delicately lifting the ball over the goalkeeper to make it 2-1.

However, Bologna quickly responded, with Ndoye capitalizing on a penalty five minutes later to restore parity.

The dramatic finale saw Bologna climb to seventh in the Serie A standings, while Torino slipped to 11th.
