Serie A: 10–man Juventus beat Parma 2-0

Jonathan David marked his Serie A debut with a goal and Dusan Vlahovic was on target as well, as Juventus defeated Parma 2-0 despite being reduced to ten men following Andrea Cambiaso’s red card.

Massimiliano Allegri handed new signing David his first start, while Gleison Bremer made his full return after recovering from the ACL injury suffered in October 2024.

However, the Bianconeri were without Nicolò Savona, Fabio Miretti, Juan Cabal, Mattia Perin and Arkadiusz Milik.

Parma also entered the clash short-handed, having lost Jacob Ondrejka and new arrival Matija Frigan to long-term injuries, with Hernani, Nicolas Trabucchi, and suspended defenders Botond Balogh and Abdoulaye Ndiaye also missing.

Parma threatened early when a flicked long throw fell to Mathias Lovik, only for Andrea Cambiaso to smother his attempt at the back post.

At the other end, Zion Suzuki was alert to tip over a Francisco Conceição header that bounced awkwardly in front of him.

David and Kenan Yildiz had a couple of miscommunications in promising positions, while Bremer and Khephren Thuram even collided going for the same Cambiaso delivery.

Just before the break, Pierre Kalulu nearly picked out a teammate from a rare wide role, but no one could apply the finishing touch.

Bremer produced a crucial intervention right after half-time, hurling himself in front of Mateo Pellegrino’s close-range effort after a pull-back from Pontus Almqvist.

Juve began to create chances of their own, Federico Gatti fired narrowly over, Yildiz curled wide, and Conceição rattled the upright with a deflected strike.

The breakthrough finally arrived when Yildiz weaved down the left and pulled back for David, who stretched to prod in with the outside of his boot from close range. In doing so, the Canadian became the first from his country ever to score for Juventus.

Even after Cambiaso received a straight red card, a harsh call for a retaliation foul on Lovik, Juventus extended their lead. Vlahovic spearheaded a counter, exchanged passes with Yildiz, and coolly tapped home to seal the 2-0 victory.

Parma kept fighting, with Adrian Bernabé drawing a flying save from Michele Di Gregorio, but the Bianconeri stood firm to open their campaign with a clean sheet and a statement win.
