Super Eagles forward, Paul Onuachu, received a rousing welcome as he touched down at Trabzonspor International Airport on Wednesday.
Photos shared on Trabzonspor’s official Twitter handle showed a massive turnout of enthusiastic fans who gathered to greet the striker upon his return to Turkey.
Club officials were the first to receive the towering Nigerian before he was swarmed by the jubilant supporters, clearly thrilled to see him back in their midst.
The 31-year-old enjoyed an impressive loan spell with the Black Sea Storm during the 2023/24 season, netting 17 goals in 25 appearances.
Following that successful stint, Onuachu is now set to complete a permanent switch to the former Turkish Super Lig champions.
Southampton had earlier confirmed last Friday that an agreement had been reached with Trabzonspor for the forward’s transfer.
The move marks a fresh chapter for Onuachu, who managed just four goals in 25 outings for the Saints before his loan move.
He joins the Turkish outfit as their latest addition ahead of the new campaign, following the signing of Joaquin Pina, while a deal for Jean-Charles Castelletto is also reportedly nearing completion.
