S’Eagles Ola Aina to renew Nottingham Forest deal

Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina, is on the verge of committing his future to Nottingham Forest, with the club reportedly close to securing a long-term contract extension for the experienced right-back.

Following an impressive 2023/24 season, Aina emerged as a key figure in the Tricky Trees’ campaign, making 35 Premier League appearances, contributing two goals and one assist.

His consistent performances helped Forest secure a respectable seventh-place finish, one of their best in recent years.

Although his current contract expires this month, Forest’s top-flight survival triggered an automatic one-year extension clause.

However, with just a year left, the club is keen to avoid losing the 28-year-old on a free transfer next summer.

Talks between Aina and the club have been ongoing for several weeks, and sources suggest a new agreement is now imminent.

The proposed deal is expected to run at least until 2028, reflecting the club’s confidence in his abilities and long-term value.

Despite last season’s success, competition at right-back is expected to intensify, with Forest eyeing reinforcements in that position. Aina will need to elevate his performance to maintain his status as the team’s preferred choice in the role.
