Cristiano Ronaldo wrote his name into the history books on Saturday night even as Al-Nassr fell short against Al-Ahli in the Saudi Super Cup final.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese superstar has now become the first player ever to score 100 goals for four different clubs and his national team.
Ronaldo, 40, achieved the landmark by converting a penalty in the final, notching his 100th goal for Al-Nassr.
The dramatic clash ended 2-2 after 90 minutes. Ronaldo’s spot-kick put Al-Nassr ahead before Franck Kessié restored parity for Al-Ahli.
Marcelo Brozović fired Al-Nassr back in front in the second half, but Roger Ibañez struck to force penalties.
In the shootout, Édouard Mendy’s decisive save handed Al-Ahli a 4-3 win, leaving Ronaldo with personal glory but no trophy to show for his efforts.
