The remains of renowned billionaire philanthropist and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, will be laid to rest in Madina on Monday, following clearance from the Saudi Arabian authorities.

The late business mogul’s secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaidu, confirmed the development in a Facebook post, noting that approval had been granted for the transportation of Dantata’s body from Abu Dhabi to Madina, where he will be buried in line with his final wishes.

“Praise be to God, praise be to God, praise be to God. Approval has been obtained to transport Aminu Alhassan Dantata from Abu Dhabi to Madina. The funeral prayer will be held tomorrow (Monday) morning, God willing,” Junaidu announced.

Prior to the clearance, there had been a delay in the process due to Saudi Arabia’s weekend work-free policy, which affected the required documentation for the burial.

Dantata passed away on Friday night in a hospital in Abu Dhabi at the age of 94 after a brief illness.

In his home city of Kano, a Ghaib (funeral) prayer was observed in absentia on Saturday, drawing relatives, dignitaries, and close associates who came together to pay their respects to the late industrialist and national figure.
