Sancho snubs Roma move as Man Utd exit stalls

2 Min Read

Jadon Sancho has declined the chance to join Roma, leaving fresh uncertainty around his Manchester United future as the transfer window edges toward its close.

The winger had delayed making a decision despite Roma reaching an agreement with United over a loan deal that included a £20 million (€25m/$29m) option to buy.

According to multiple reports, Sancho has now formally rejected the Italian club’s proposal.

The 25-year-old has also ruled out a switch to Turkish side Besiktas, narrowing the list of potential suitors and leaving United frustrated in their push to arrange an exit.

With his contract running until next summer and his high wages complicating negotiations, the England international’s options remain limited.

His reluctance to move at this stage indicates he may be waiting for a project that aligns better with his career goals.

Roma boss, Gian Piero Gasperini, even attempted to convince Sancho directly, stressing how he could revive the form that made him a star at Borussia Dortmund.

Sporting director, Frederic Massara, also engaged in discussions with the player’s representatives regarding commissions and salary structure. Despite those efforts, “the player’s stance has ended the negotiations.”

With both Roma and Besiktas off the table, Sancho’s next destination remains uncertain. Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, and Atletico Madrid are still monitoring developments, but the winger is expected to take his time before making a final decision.
