As Muslims prepare to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival, the Oyo State Police Command has intensified security operations across the state to guarantee a peaceful celebration.

In a statement issued on Thursday from Ibadan, the state capital, the Commissioner of Police, Johnson Adenola, disclosed that personnel have been strategically stationed across the 33 local government areas of the state.

According to the CP, the deployment is part of a broader strategy to safeguard lives and property before, during, and after the religious festivities.

“The command has rolled out comprehensive security measures to secure key areas,” Adenola stated. “These include places of worship, public spaces, critical infrastructure, correctional facilities, media houses, highways, and all major entry and exit points.”

He further directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and tactical unit leaders to adopt proactive strategies aimed at preventing security breaches during the celebration period.

Reassuring residents, Adenola emphasized the command’s unwavering commitment to public safety. “We are committed to ensuring the protection of lives and property. Our personnel are on the ground to maintain peace and respond swiftly to any emerging threats,” he said.
