Mohamed Salah has once again etched his name into Liverpool folklore, claiming the club’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Season award for a remarkable fifth time in his storied Anfield career.

The Egyptian forward was instrumental in Liverpool’s triumphant Premier League campaign, marking his second league title with the Reds. Salah’s contributions were nothing short of extraordinary, 29 goals and 18 assists in the league not only powered the club’s success but also earned him a record-equalling fourth Golden Boot and a second Playmaker award.

His brilliance didn’t go unnoticed, as Salah was crowned the Premier League Player of the Season for 2024-25 and also scooped the FWA Footballer of the Year honour.

Over the course of all competitions, Liverpool’s No.11 delivered 34 goals and 23 assists, securing the club’s top individual accolade for the second consecutive season and fifth time overall.

He previously clinched the award in 2017-18, 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2023-24 – a testament to his consistency and impact since arriving on Merseyside.

Salah’s exceptional form across the 2024-25 season saw him collect the Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month award on four occasions, while also being named Player of the Match 14 times, more than any other Liverpool player.

As is becoming tradition, he kicked off the season in style, registering a goal and an assist in Liverpool’s 2-0 opening day victory over Ipswich Town.

His historic ascent up the club’s scoring charts continued too. A brace in a thrilling 6-3 win at Tottenham Hotspur in December saw him surpass Billy Liddell to become fourth on Liverpool’s all-time scorers list. By March, he had overtaken Gordon Hodgson to move into third place.

April saw Salah commit his future to the club by signing a new contract, and he celebrated another milestone shortly after, making his 400th appearance for Liverpool in the penultimate fixture of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion.

He closed out the campaign with 245 goals in Liverpool red, now just 40 goals shy of Roger Hunt, who sits second in the club’s all-time scoring charts.

In the wider Premier League picture, Salah continues to break new ground. With 186 goals, he now sits fifth on the all-time scorers list, just one goal behind Andrew Cole, setting the stage for yet another personal milestone in the upcoming season.
