Liverpool talisman, Mohamed Salah, has opened up about his future in football, revealing he could remain active in the game until the age of 40.

The Egyptian international, who recently extended his stay at Anfield with a new contract running until 2027, made the revelation during a conversation with On Sports.

Salah confirmed that his latest deal with Liverpool doesn’t mark the end of his football journey.

“I will stop playing when I have that feeling.”

In the same interview, the 31-year-old shared his personal target for retirement, while acknowledging the possibility of stepping away earlier if the desire fades.

“If you ask me for my opinion, I think I can play until the age of 39 or 40 but if I felt before that I wanted to stop, I would quit. I have achieved a lot of things.”

Salah also disclosed that he had considered a move to Saudi Arabia before ultimately deciding to remain with the Premier League giants.

“My contract was up at Liverpool and I would have gone to Saudi but we finalised the deal with Liverpool.”

Despite future uncertainties, Salah expressed contentment with his current situation at Liverpool and reaffirmed his commitment for the foreseeable future.

“I don’t know what is going to happen but I am happy here in Liverpool and I am staying here for the next two years. Then I will see what I will do next,” he stated.
