The Rotary Club of Lagos has inaugurated Mrs. Toki Mabogunje, a prominent lawyer and business leader, as its 65th President.

According to The PUNCH, the installation ceremony took place on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Condo Event Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Mabogunje, who is also a former president of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), is taking the helm as the club ushers in a new Rotary year, which spans from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.

Speaking at the event, Mabogunje expressed her commitment to deepening the club’s impact across Rotary International’s seven key areas of focus.

“I am honoured to serve at this time. Our mission this year will emphasize peacebuilding, improving access to healthcare and education, enhancing water and sanitation systems, empowering women and children, supporting environmental sustainability, and fostering economic development,” she said.

The occasion attracted dignitaries from across Nigeria’s professional and academic spheres.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, served as the guest of honour, while Mr. Lawrence Anga SAN Senior Partner at the law firm AELEX, chaired the event.

Mabogunje, the founder of Toki Mabogunje & Co., also holds the position of Vice Chair, Africa, at the World Chambers Federation of the International Chamber of Commerce.

The event also featured the induction of the 2025/2026 Board members and a fundraising dinner aimed at supporting the club’s humanitarian projects.

Established on June 3, 1961, the Rotary Club of Lagos holds the distinction of being Nigeria’s oldest continuously active Rotary Club. Under Mabogunje’s leadership, the club aims to expand its community service footprint while upholding the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”

“It’s not just about leadership—it’s about impact. We are ready to roll up our sleeves and work together for the good of our communities,” Mabogunje added.
