Rodri’s father, Antonio Hernández, has revealed that talks are ongoing between the midfielder and Manchester City, though he insists nothing has been decided about his son’s future.
The Spanish star remains under contract with the Citizens until the summer of 2027, but speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid continues to gather momentum.
Antonio Hernández spoke in Madrid on Wednesday while accepting a national award on Rodri’s behalf.
He admitted there is still uncertainty over whether the midfielder will stay at the club beyond his current deal.
“If I said something I would have to kill you,” he joked.
“I can’t say anything. He’s very comfortable where he is. It’s possible he doesn’t know it (where he will play) yet. He is negotiating. But I know nothing. History has yet to be written.”
