Rivers State Governor, Siminialayi Fubara, has appointed ex-Supreme Court Judge, Hon. Justice Mary Odili (Rtd.) as Pro-chancellor of the Rivers State University.
This was made known in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Also, former Super Eagles player, Adokiye Amiesemaka was appointed as Pro-chancellor of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni in Port Harcourt.
According to the statement, Hon. Justice Mary Odili (Rtd), who has been appointed Pro-chancellor, would also serve as Chairman of the reconstituted governing council of the Rivers State University while Barr. Mela Oforibika, Chukwuma Chinwo, Esq., Adata Bio-Briggs, Esq., Dr. Jonathan Nimi Hart, Ngo Martins-Yellowe, Dr. Robinson N. Ewoh, Dr. Nancy Nwankwo, Dr. Igoni William-Park and Mr. Ogbugbu Samuel Barisua would serve as members.
The appointments take effect immediately, according to the statement.
