Rangers technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has voiced his disappointment following his team’s exit from the President Federation Cup.
The Flying Antelopes were edged out by Kwara United in a tightly contested semi-final clash at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, on Wednesday.
Wasiu Alalade’s strike three minutes into the second half proved to be the difference, sending Kwara United into the final.
Rangers had hoped to lift the prestigious cup to cap off their season after narrowly missing out on the Nigeria Premier Football League title to Remo Stars.
Reflecting on the loss, Ilechukwu lamented his team’s poor start to the encounter.
“This is really a sad loss for us as a team, but we have taken it as one of the outcomes of a football match. It was not destined to be our day,” said the young tactician.
“Our first half was not too impressive, but we came back for the second half a better side, but that error at the back gave us away,” he added.
