The Federal Government has reacted to the leaked correspondence about President Bola Tinubu’s rejection to visit Qatar.

Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Ministry has cleared the air that the leaked correspondence is not worthy of any comment.

This was contained in a statement by Francisca Omayuli, a spokesperson of Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.

She, however, kept mum on whether Qatar declined a meeting with President Tinubu, according to Daily Post.

She acknowledged the media report about Qatar snubbing Nigerian President’s visit to the country.

She confirmed that the president will still visit Qatar on the said date to strengthen the deplomatic ties between the two countries.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms the forthcoming visit by His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the State of Qatar on March 2-3, as scheduled. The visit will include bilateral discussions at the highest level across the full range of strategic, diplomatic and economic issues.

“The Federal Republic of Nigeria and the State of Qatar have a long history of friendship and close bilateral relations. The forthcoming visit to Doha by HE President Tinubu will help build on this important relationship.

“The Ministry is aware of the circulation in the media of diplomatic correspondence and wishes to confirm that it will not comment on leaks,” she said.
