Polls: INEC receives LP’s legal team for election materials inspection

The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, received Labour Party’s legal team at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja, today.

 

The legal team of the party, was on Monday met with officials of the INEC in Abuja, following the approval of the party’s application to the appeal court, to inspect the materials, used for the last presidential election.

 

The meeting with INEC officials which is being held at the Commission’s national headquarters was to kick start the process of inspection of electoral materials used for the February 25 presidential election.

 

The head of the legal team, Dr Livy Uzoukwu, led 60 other lawyers to the INEC Headquarters, and newsmen are expected to briefed on the out of the meeting, later today.

 

It would be recalled that the party had through its legal team, earlier obtained a court judgement directing the electoral umpire to allow it, inspect the materials used for the February 25 polls.
