The Lagos State Police Command has summoned the founder and senior pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Pastor Chris Okafor, in connection with allegations bordering on rape and other actions considered capable of disturbing public order.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed that the cleric has been asked to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti.
He is expected to appear before the Deputy Commissioner of Police overseeing the SCID at exactly 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026.
The police confirmed that the invitation was formally delivered to Pastor Okafor through his legal counsel.
The statement noted that the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has directed investigators to carry out a comprehensive probe into a series of grave allegations made against the pastor, including claims of sexual offences and other criminal acts.
As part of the investigation, the command said adequate security arrangements have been put in place for individuals who claim to be victims.
They were urged to visit the SCID, Panti, to formally lodge their complaints. The police further assured that all complainants and witnesses would enjoy strict confidentiality and protection during the process.
“Any person or persons who may have fallen victim, as well as those with credible information or evidence relevant to the investigation, are encouraged to come forward without fear or apprehension,” the statement read.
CP Jimoh reiterated that the case would be handled with professionalism, fairness, and transparency, stressing that the law would take its course.
He emphasized that no one would receive preferential treatment on account of influence, status, or position.
