The Niger State Police Command has announced the recovery of eight cartons of pharmaceutical products believed to have been stolen and abandoned in an uncompleted building in Suleja.

Police spokesman, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Saturday.

He explained that the discovery followed a complaint received by the police on Monday night regarding suspicious items left behind the Sandaco area of Suleja.

“On 19th August 2025, at about 8 pm, information was received at ‘B’ Division, Suleja, that some items were abandoned in the Sandaco area,” Abiodun stated.

“Police operatives attached to the Division quickly moved to the scene and recovered eight cartons containing pharmaceutical drugs such as Amodiaquine, Sulfadoxine, and Pyrimethamine.”

He noted that the recovered medicines are now in police custody while investigations continue to trace their source and determine why they were hidden in the location.

“The items were conveyed to the station and are under investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the abandonment of the drugs,” Abiodun added.

The command assured residents that efforts are ongoing to identify those behind the act and urged the public to provide useful information that could assist in the investigation.
