The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two men suspected of belonging to a cult group for allegedly being in unlawful possession of a pistol.
The State Police Command’s Spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, noting that the suspects, aged 34 and 35, were nabbed in the Alaba-Rago area of Ojo.
“On July 11, upon credible intelligence, operatives of the command swung into action and apprehended the suspects.
“One semiautomatic pistol was recovered from them.
“Investigation also revealed that the suspects are members of a cult group,” the spokesperson said.
Hundeyin added that the men are currently assisting investigators with vital information aimed at tracking down other members of the alleged cult group and recovering additional firearms.
