The Kano State Police Command has arrested three men alleged to have taken part in an armed robbery in Abuja, during which a vehicle was stolen and a victim seriously injured.

The Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Wednesday.

He identified the suspects as Ismail Imran, 20; Abdulaziz Yahaya, 31; and Musa Ibrahim Isah, 29, all residents of Rigasa Quarters in Kaduna State.

According to Haruna, the suspects were apprehended on September 6, 2025, during a joint surveillance operation involving police operatives and local vigilante groups.

“The recovered item is a blue 2014 Toyota Corolla S with registration number KWL-78 DN. It had a broken windscreen, and investigations traced it back to an armed robbery reported in Durumi, Abuja, on September 5 at about 2:00 a.m.,” he explained.

The police spokesman added that the vehicle’s owner confirmed the attack, disclosing that one of his family members sustained critical injuries during the robbery.

The state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the operatives for their swift response and urged residents to remain vigilant.

“This operation underscores the importance of community-centered policing as directed by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun. We assure residents of our unwavering commitment to the safety of lives and property across Kano State,” CP Bakori said.

The suspects, now in custody, are said to be cooperating with investigators to uncover the full scope of their alleged criminal network.

The police also reminded the public to promptly report suspicious movements to the nearest station.
