Four suspected members of the EYE confraternity have been apprehended by operatives of the CP-Special Assignment Team, led by ASP Julius Robinson, during a raid on Yoruba Street in Sapele, Delta State.
The arrest, which took place on June 29, 2025, also led to the recovery of a Beretta pistol along with three rounds of live ammunition.
The Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident in a statement issued to our correspondent in Warri.
In the statement, Edafe said, “On 29/06/2025, operatives of the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) led by ASP Julius Robinson, acting on credible intelligence, stormed Yoruba Street of Sapele town and arrested one Rasheed Atanda ‘m’ 31 yrs, a native of Irinle community in Kwara State, resident in Sapele town.”
Edafe further disclosed that a follow-up investigation led to the arrest of three additional suspects: Charles Oyowe, 36, from Obeda in Warri North LGA, in whose possession the pistol and ammunition were found; Rewane Ogbitse, 49, from Jakpa in Warri South LGA; and Shedrack Oloko, 44, from Ethiope East LGA.
He added, “Preliminary investigation further led the operatives to arrest other suspects, including: Charles Oyowe ‘m’ 36 yrs, native of Obeda, Warri North LGA of Delta State, in whose possession a Beretta pistol with three (3) rounds of live ammunition was recovered; Rewane Ogbitse ‘m’ 49 yrs, native of Jakpa, Warri South LGA of Delta State; and Shedrack Oloko ‘m’ 44 yrs, native of Ethiope East LGA of Delta State.”
The police spokesman also revealed that all the suspects admitted to being affiliated with the EYE confraternity.
He said, “All the suspects confessed to being members of the EYE confraternity.”
