The Anambra State Police Command has received a new armoured personnel carrier to strengthen its operational capacity and reinforce efforts in tackling security challenges across the state.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, disclosed this development while receiving the APC at the command’s headquarters on Monday.

He described the delivery as a significant boost to the Command’s logistics and a welcome step in addressing the growing demands of internal security operations.

“This is a critical asset that will greatly enhance our ability to respond to threats and maintain peace and order across Anambra,” Orutugu stated.

He expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, particularly the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, for his continued support in equipping state commands.

“We are grateful to the IGP for his proactive leadership, which has consistently reflected in improved logistics, welfare, and the morale of officers across the country,” the CP added.

Orutugu also reassured residents of the state that the Command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property.

He called on members of the public to continue cooperating with security agencies to ensure a safer and more secure environment for all.

“The Anambra Police Command reiterates its dedication to community safety and urges Ndi Anambra to partner with us in intelligence sharing and civic responsibility,” he said.
