Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested seven teenagers linked to the notorious criminal group known as the Shila Boys.

The suspects, all male and between the ages of 15 and 18, were reportedly caught in the act of armed robbery within the Federal Housing Estate located in Bajabure, Girei Local Government Area.

According to a statement released on Wednesday by the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the arrests followed a series of distress calls received by the Command on June 9, 2025.

Identified among the arrested suspects are Ja’afar Umar (16), Bulama Abba (15), Dalha Mohammed (16), Saidu Abba (18), Safiyanu Yunusa (15), Mohammed Abubakar (15), and Abba Ibrahim (15) — all residents of Jambutu in Yola North Local Government Area.

Recovered from the group were a dagger, two GSM phones, and a total of N12,350 in cash. These items have been catalogued as evidence.

“The suspects attacked members of the public, dispossessing them of their valuables,” SP Nguroje said in his statement.

He further explained that the young men were armed with dangerous weapons and instilled fear in the community.

“The operatives, led by DPO Viniklang and his team, swiftly responded to the scene of the crime and arrested the suspects,” he added.

Nguroje also noted that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered a thorough investigation and prosecution of the suspects to ensure justice is served.
