The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended a 25-year-old man, identified as Samuel Eze, for allegedly being in possession of a woman’s severed breast.

This shocking discovery was made during a routine patrol by a joint security team from the Awada Police Division and local vigilante operatives on Jude Onyekwere Street in Obosi, near Onitsha. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 6, at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a statement on Sunday, “The suspect was found with a woman’s breast. It was immediately recovered and taken to the morgue for preservation. He is currently in custody and undergoing interrogation for further investigative procedures and prosecution.”

In a related development, police operatives from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) rescued a kidnapped truck driver and recovered goods worth millions of naira. Acting on credible intelligence, the officers swooped into action on July 4 at about 12:45 p.m.

According to Ikenga, “The team rescued a driver who was kidnapped while transporting custard powder valued at ₦9.5 million. The truck was also recovered, and three suspects have been arrested.”

Those arrested include Udegenyi Ugochukwu (38), Anayochukwu Okonkwo (47), and Good Odigili (47). The suspects allegedly diverted the truck to Enugwu Ukwu in Anambra State after tying up the driver in a bush.

“They confessed that the goods were meant for delivery to a warehouse in Asaba, Delta State, before they abducted the driver and attempted to steal the consignment,” Ikenga said.

Meanwhile, the police also recovered a suspected stolen and abandoned Toyota Sienna van, with registration number 736 JP, along Okpuno–Umuota Village road in Obosi. The vehicle bore the inscription “Forum of Accountants Delta State.”

“The vehicle was recovered on July 5 by 4:30 p.m. during a patrol by officers from the Obosi Division. We urge any rightful owner to come forward with valid proof of ownership for verification and possible retrieval,” the police spokesperson added.

Ikenga reassured residents that the police would continue intensified patrols and inter-agency security surveillance across the state.

“The Anambra State Police Command remains committed to the safety of residents. Joint security operations involving the police, military, DSS, Civil Defence, Immigration, and vigilante groups are ongoing to maintain law and order,” he stated.

The command has urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
