Plateau pilgrim dies in Makkah

A Plateau State pilgrim, Hajiya Jamila Muhammad, has passed away in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, due to complications from diabetes.

The sad incident was confirmed by Mr. Daiyabu Dauda, Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, in a statement issued to journalists on Tuesday in Jos.

Dauda explained that Hajiya Muhammad died on Monday at King Abdul’aziz Hospital in Makkah after suffering diabetic complications.

“When the complications began, we immediately took her to the hospital for proper medication in line with our mandate. Unfortunately, we lost her, and the doctor at the hospital confirmed it was complications due to diabetes,” he said.

The deceased has since been buried in Makkah in accordance with Islamic rites. Dauda extended his condolences to her family, urging them to find comfort in faith.

“We condole with her immediate family over this irreparable loss and urge them to take solace in God,” he added.

The Plateau State Pilgrims Welfare Board continues to monitor the welfare of other pilgrims from the state currently performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
