The National Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has officially reinstated Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s National Secretary.
According to The PUNCH, the decision was reached during the party’s 100th NEC meeting held in Abuja on Monday, June 30, 2025.
Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Ambassador Umar Damagum, confirmed the development while addressing journalists after the meeting.
“Senator Samuel Anyanwu has been reinstated as the National Secretary of our great party. This decision reflects our commitment to internal democracy and unity within the party,” Damagum stated.
He also announced that the next NEC meeting, which will be the 101st, is slated for July 23, 2025. According to him, the meeting will focus on finalizing preparations for the PDP’s forthcoming national convention.
“This next NEC meeting will help us tie up loose ends and ensure we are fully prepared for the national convention,” Damagum added.
The NEC meeting comes amid ongoing political maneuvering within the PDP, as the party works to strengthen its leadership structure ahead of major electoral contests.
