The Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency has launched a compulsory revalidation exercise targeting all third-party outdoor advertising operators across the state.

The agency’s Director-General, Oludolapo Esho, made this known in a statement issued in Ibadan and signed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade.

According to Esho, the initiative is part of OYSAA’s ongoing strategy to establish a comprehensive and digital database of all signage and billboard structures within Oyo State.

“This revalidation is crucial to improving regulatory oversight, ensuring transparency, and enhancing our service delivery. We are leveraging an agency-approved digital platform to achieve this goal,” Esho explained.

He emphasized that all registered advertising firms are required to visit the agency’s office at the State Secretariat in Ibadan to update their operational credentials. This process, he noted, is essential for confirming approved locations and tagging all billboards under the agency’s supervision.

“The government has made it clear that participation in this exercise is mandatory, and no exceptions will be made. Any practitioner who fails to comply within the specified timeframe risks deregistration and immediate removal of their billboard structures,” Esho warned.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for supporting a business-friendly climate in the state, reiterating the agency’s commitment to fostering a cooperative and regulated advertising industry.

Esho also urged all stakeholders in the outdoor advertising sector to comply with the revalidation guidelines to avoid sanctions and ensure continued collaboration with the state government.
