The Independent National Electoral Commission has presented Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, with his Certificate of Return following his victory in the August 15 governorship election.
The Punch reported that Adeleke was presented with the certificate on Wednesday, formally confirming his re-election for a second term as governor of the state.
The governor was seen singing and dancing during the ceremony, marking the occasion with celebration after securing another mandate from Osun voters.
His Special Assistant on Digital Media, Olalekan Badmus, announced the presentation in a post on X.
“Governor Ademola Adeleke receives Certificate of Return from @inecnigeria as the winner of August 15th, 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun,” Badmus posted.
The INEC presentation followed the governor’s declaration as winner of the election on Sunday.
Adeleke secured victory in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas, defeating his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who won in 11 LGAs.
Following his victory, Adeleke pledged to consolidate the achievements of his first term while addressing areas where his administration fell short.
He also assured the people of Osun that he would not disappoint them as he begins his second term.
