Galatasaray have announced that Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, will miss their Turkish Süper Lig fixture against Konyaspor due to an injury.
Osimhen had been influential in Okan Buruk’s 5-2 triumph over Serie A powerhouse Juventus on Tuesday, providing two assists in the process.
The Nigerian forward has been left out of the squad for Saturday’s clash at Medaş Konya Büyükşehir Stadium as a precautionary measure, with the club hopeful he will be ready for next week’s UEFA Champions League return leg against Juventus.
“Victor Osimhen, who is experiencing pain in his right knee, was left out of the squad for the Tümosan Konyaspor match as a precautionary measure,” Galatasaray stated on their official website.
In Osimhen’s absence, former Argentina international Mauro Icardi is expected to spearhead Galatasaray’s attack.
This season, the 25-year-old has netted nine goals and provided three assists in 16 league appearances for Buruk’s side.
After 22 league rounds, Galatasaray sit atop the table with 55 points, while Konyaspor occupy 14th position with 20 points.
