Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, continues to struggle with injury but is expected to return to action soon, Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has confirmed.
The 26-year-old sustained the injury while representing Nigeria on international duty last week and immediately returned to Turkey for treatment, with the club updating fans on his progress via their official website.
Osimhen was absent as the Yellow and Red secured a 2-0 victory over Eyupspor on Saturday.
Buruk, however, remains optimistic about the forward’s availability for Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League opener against Eintracht Frankfurt later this week.
“Osimhen’s condition will be determined within a few days. We’re hopeful he’ll play. We think he will, but of course, he’s in pain,” Buruk told the club’s official website.
The Turkish giants are scheduled to visit Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.
