Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, opened his Turkish Super Lig account for the season as Galatasaray cruised to a 4-0 victory over Kayserispor on Sunday.

Making his first start of the campaign, the Nigerian forward lasted the entire 90 minutes and struck in the 86th minute to extend the champions’ lead to 3-0. It was his second league appearance this term.

Galatasaray had earlier gone ahead in the 36th minute through Eren Elmali, who also doubled the advantage just after the restart in the 46th minute, this time finishing off a fine assist from ex-Bayern Munich and Manchester City star Leroy Sané.

The German winger later sealed the comprehensive win with a stoppage-time effort in the 93rd minute.

Osimhen is currently enjoying his second spell with the Istanbul giants, having previously impressed on loan last season when his goals helped the club secure both the league and cup titles.

The former Napoli talisman has also been listed in coach Eric Chelle’s provisional squad for Nigeria’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.

So far, he has found the net three times in the qualifying campaign, including a brace in the 2-0 away win against Rwanda and another strike in the 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe.

At present, the Super Eagles occupy fourth place in Group C with seven points, six adrift of leaders South Africa.
